Main Solution:

Translator app

Description: This app will translate speech into different languages. It’s for both iOS and Android phones. The interface is simple, and it can be used by children, teens, and adults alike. This will help reduce language barriers by allowing the communication between two people who speak different languages to become more effective. As many languages as possible will be included on this app. It can be used in all countries.

POV Statement: Joshua, a recent immigrant to the who is looking for work, is a native Portuguese speaker who needs more opportunities for success. Progressing career wise (or in any other way) in the Anglo-sphere is difficult without knowing English.

Support POV:

  1. Monolingual English speakers will also be able to communicate with their employees more easily.
  2. Patients will be safer, because they’ll be able to more easily follow the instructions of their doctor.

APP Component:

  • It will use the microphone to record the speech it’s translating, and will deliver auditory translations.
  • There will be another screen that allows the user to translate the speech into sign language.
